Painting with watercolors, is a quick fix when I need to capture a moment. When I travel, I carry watercolors and a journal. My journal and paints have accompanied me at a coffee shop in Florence Italy, on the beach in Florida, on a beach in Oahu, glamping on Vancouver Island and at the Sydney Opera house with a glass of wine.
I just got back from a trip to Israel with my husband and friends. I painted my way through the country. I came home with some fabulous memories AND a journal filled with artwork inspired by the land of milk and honey. My journal is one of my most precious possession and the latest entries in israel were done with watercolors and water from the Jordan River.
I also enjoy the bold statement that acrylics make. Using the thick paint on a large canvas is very satisfying. Although, it dries very quickly and has its challenges. I still find it thrilling.
